R1100S

Have sold my old BMW and bought a rather spiffing R1100SS.Ê The 'funny' story is that BMW UK didn't realised when they marketed the sporty R11 that SS has offish connotations for a generation of people who fought in Germany.Ê The scamps.Ê Anyway, the SS model has a wider rear rim (5.5in), firmer and more adjustable suspension and a steering damper.Ê It is essentially the same as a Boxer Cup minus the belly-pan and the shell-suit.Ê Work is going OK, just a couple of smallish chapters to write.Ê Have been "hitting it hard" in the office every day (even Saturday and Sunday) recently in a bid to finish by Christmas.Ê All other plans are on hold until the thesis is done.

Pedalling again!

Have been back on the bikes for a few days, and I am really feeling the lack of fitness.Ê My work is going OK - a couple more chapters to do and I whould be able to wrap it up by Christmas.

One thing that has surprised me is that, although my cardio is shot, my strength hasn't dropped off that much.Ê I have realised that the Boeris is a moderately extreme position..Ê The bars are pretty low.

It's for sale, but only for £475.Ê Any less than that and I'll stick it in the loft for the kids!
